This was a really easy and fun project to make and it looks really cute on the tree.
I used some of my clipart but you could use photos, drawings and just about anything you could print!

Xmas Chocolate Wrappers

These make cute Christmas gifts for friends and family! Who doesn't love a sweet treat now and then! My girls love handing these out to their teachers and friends!

Xmas Mailbox

Now that my kids are older, we decided to start a new tradition where they give each other meaningful gifts. Something small that lets the other person know that they are thinking about them. I created this mailbox with the idea that they could place ideas in the mailbox.

If you have small children, they could place their letters to Santa here!

Xmas Shrink Art

Here is a sample of one of the ornaments I created using some Shrink Film!

It's fun to watch it shrink and very easy to use!

"Joy" art

I was inspired to make my own "Joy" artwork from all those wonderful ideas other people have posted. I kept seeing the word "Joy" and thought it would be nice to make one myself

Picture Frames

I love capturing bits and pieces of my life with photos! This morning as I walked by these pictures, of my kids, I had a bittersweet moment. I felt sad to see how fast time goes by but happy to know that I was able to have those moments.

I wanted to share this idea! I found these frames a while back on clearance and decided to make one of each of my kids. In the center, of each frame, I placed a baby picture of them at the same age. The rest of the photos are of them as they grow. At the bottom I placed their names with some white sticker letters.  I hung up the frames side by side and enjoy looking at them each time I pass by!

FREE Thanksgiving Printable

On my birthday my wonderful family gave me a gift card, and of course, I used it to buy some Copic Sketch Markers! They are a bit expensive but they are great for blending colors and so much fun to use! They come in 346 colors, brush nibs are replaceable and the ink is refillable!

HandPad for the iPad

I was so excited the other day to receive my bamboo stylus for the iPad. Even though it's not pressure sensitive I felt it would be fun to sketch with it.  As I was using it, I kept placing my hand down, and this would create lines on my page. So I came up with the idea of creating a pad I could lean my hand on so I could draw or write.  This is a quick tutorial of my idea!

Creating a Swatch Palette from a Photo with Photoshop CS5

Has there been times when you can't decide what colors to choose for your layouts?  You stare at your photo and a blank page and have no clue where to start. An easy way to get started is to use colors right from your photo

  1. Open up your image and go to image>duplicate
  2. You want to make sure you use a copy of your image and not the original
  3. This process will change the look of the photo once the colors have been extracted

Creative Journey

So, through the process of getting in touch with my creative side, I have had a desire to start painting.  I decided to try doing it digitally using Corel Painter.  I used the real soft pastels and the soft blenders. It's amazing how much the brushes mimic the real thing. I enjoyed it and will be practicing some more!!!

New Beginnings

I’ve been wanting to start a blog but wasn’t sure how to do it.  This is my first attempt!  I’m actually pretty excited! I’ve been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom who has loved every part of raising a family.  When they were little, my mom told me to enjoy the good and the bad because time passes fast.  At the time, like every mom would understand, I was running around trying to keep up with everyday.  Now, my kids are teenagers and I don’t know exactly where time went.  I’m with my kids all the time, and it wasn’t till the other day that I saw a picture of them and realized how grown up they are. I mean, it isn’t that I didn’t notice, or look at them everyday, but it just hit me!  They are teenagers and how could I of not noticed!  I remembered my mom’s words.  Life does go by fast!
So now that they are more independent I find myself with more time on my hands to find my creative side again. I have always loved art, design, graphics, illustration and photography. A little of everything. I love surrounding myself with things that inspire me, like a set of markers, drawing paper, photos and my computer. Here I can share and post my creative process and maybe help or inspire someone along the way.
